Remembering the little details is what flat-lays are all about. There’s something so special about capturing the things that make your wedding day unique: the perfume you wore, your groom’s watch, your shoes, your jewelry… All the things that are special to you and your soon-to-be-spouse, but items that might slip your memory 50 years down the road. Your invitations might get tossed, your shoes might have some scuffs, but detail photos preserve those memories forever.
When thinking about your details box there are a few things we recommend, but the most important thing is that you include details that are special to you.
Our recommendations for details box include:
Invitation or Save the Date
Extra Florals or Bouquet
His and Hers Rings
Veil (if you have one)
Jewelry
Shoes
Perfume
Vows (if written)
Next, think about things that are special to you! Some special details we have seen:
Tiger Rag - for our Clemson Alum
Reception Details - Custom disposable cameras, table numbers, custom napkins
Something Old - Jewelry a family member wore
Something Blue - garter, shoes, florals
Bride’s bag or purse
If you want to include the groom’s details, here’s a list of common ones we’ve seen:
Groom’s watch
Cologne
Pocket square or handkerchief
Bowtie or tie
Cigars
Feel free to include anything that is special to you to add a personal touch! We love getting creative and making beautiful art with your details.
